Arbor Moon fully formed on the outskirts of the Minnesota Twin Cities in 2025. Lead singer/songwriter, Brian Jameson, had a dream of starting a modern bluegrassy folk band for a few years as he performed solo acoustic tunes at local breweries in the Twin City area, Slowly, the band that would be known as Arbor Moon began to take shape.
Arbor Moon's music is a new and fresh take on music that feels reminiscent. Their sound aims to evoke rootsy Americana with melodic richness, often featuring acoustic strings, vocal harmonies and storytelling lyrics. Inspired by other modern Minnesota music such as Trampled by Turtles, Kind County, and Pert Near Sandstone, Arbor Moon also draws from classic 70's bands such as Grateful Dead, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Pure Prairie League, The Allman Brothers, and many other classics. Musical themes tend to revolve around life, love, nature, and heartfelt reflection, delivered in a way that resonates with both bluegrass and folk audiences.
The band's name is inspired by the “moon trees," which began with Apollo 14 in 1971 when astronaut Stuart Roosa took a canister containing about 500 seeds into lunar orbit. After returning to Earth, most of these seeds successfully germinated, and the resulting seedlings were planted across the United States. The band's name is a symbolic nod to growth, exploration, and roots- both literal and musical.
The band is currently recording their first EP with hopes to release soon.
